Every Sweden Phone Number Comes with Three Core Options

  • 1. Route your Sweden FlyNumber to any standard phone number
  • This is a fundamental FlyNumber feature that can be updated "on the fly" (pun intended) via your panel
  • There's no need for a PBX or phone system with this option
  • Whenever our system has to route calls to a standard phone number, a minimal per minute rate applies
  • Learn more about call forwarding

  • 2. Pair the FlyNumber with our cloud-based PBX
  • This is an optional feature. You can always revert to one of the other core options (1. Standard Phone or 3. Voip/SIP)
  • The cost is $14.95 a month, in addition to the price of the Sweden phone number (displayed at the top of the page)
  • If you route to a standard phone number and/or make outgoing calls, a per minute rate is applicable
  • Features include IVR/Voice Menu, Call Recording, On-Hold/Queue, Time-based routing, SIP Accounts, Voicemail, and more
  • The PBX significantly enhances the core features (1. and 3.)
  • You can use the PBX to make outgoing calls with your virtual phone number

  • This is a fundamental FlyNumber feature - link the Sweden phone number to any SIP address (URI/host)
  • No PBX involved | Instantly update settings | Detailed logs (including failed attempts)
  • Using the SIP protocol (VoIP) may be the most efficient way to handle calls, as it involves the least number of "hops"

  • There are no extra charges for receiving calls this way - Unlimited incoming minutes
  • Link your Sweden DID phone number to one of our "easy setup" voip providers

Technical info on Sweden phone numbers

  • Sweden phone numbers follow the E.164 international numbering plan, which includes a country code, area code, and local number. The Swedish telephone numbering system is overseen by the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS), which manages the allocation and administration of phone numbers.
  • Country code: +46
  • Area codes (geographical codes):
  • Area codes in Sweden are 1-3 digits long and begin with a 0. Larger cities have shorter area codes, while smaller towns and rural areas have longer ones. Here are some examples:
  • Stockholm: 08
  • Gothenburg: 031
  • Malmö: 040
  • Uppsala: 018
  • Local numbers:
  • Local numbers in Sweden are typically 5-8 digits long, with the total length of the area code and local number always equaling 9 digits (excluding the country code). For example, a Stockholm number with area code 08 might have a 7-digit local number: 08-123 45 67.
  • Mobile numbers:
  • Mobile numbers in Sweden usually have 3-digit area codes starting with 7 (e.g., 070, 072, 073) followed by a 6-digit local number. Just like landlines, the total length of the area code and local number is 9 digits.
  • Non-geographical numbers:
  • Non-geographical numbers are used for services that are not tied to a specific location, such as toll-free and premium rate numbers. These numbers also have 3-digit area codes beginning with a 2, 8, or 9, followed by a 6-digit local number.
  • Dialing within Sweden:
  • When calling within Sweden, you must dial the area code followed by the local number (e.g., 08-123 45 67 for a Stockholm number). If the area code starts with a 0, it must be included in the dialing sequence.
  • Dialing from outside Sweden:
  • When calling a Swedish number from outside the country, you must first dial your country's international access code (e.g., 00 for most European countries, 011 for the US and Canada), followed by Sweden's country code (+46), the area code without the leading 0, and the local number. For example, to call a Stockholm number from the US, you would dial 011-46-8-123 45 67.
  • Emergency numbers:
  • In Sweden, the emergency number for police, fire, and ambulance services is 112.
