Overview

Three things drive billing in the FlyNumber panel: your prepaid balance (a USD wallet on your account), your saved payment methods (Stripe cards and PayPal, priority-ordered), and the three automations that decide what to charge and when. Every other page in this section is just configuration of those pieces.

Auto-Renew ยท Charge saved card on renewal ยท Auto-Refillโ€‹

The three automations are independent โ€” different scopes, different triggers, different homes in the panel. They're the part of the system that surprises new users most.

In short: Auto-Renew is "should this thing renew?", Charge saved card on renewal is "should we charge a card on renewal, or just pull from prepaid?", and Auto-Refill is "should we top up the wallet?".

Per-number Auto-Renew lives on each FlyNumber's detail page, with a read-only On renewal row that points across to the account-wide setting in Billing Settings:

Billing Settings is the account-wide hub โ€” three cards stacked top-to-bottom: saved payment methods, the Charge saved card on renewal toggle, and Auto-Refill:

If it fails, we'll use your prepaid balance.'), and Auto-Refill (toggle off, description 'Automatically add funds when your prepaid balance runs low')

Transactions is the unified history โ€” every payment, refund, and prepaid debit across Stripe, PayPal, and your balance, in one chronological feed:

Payment providersโ€‹

Three options at every checkout: credit/debit card (via Stripe), PayPal, or your prepaid balance. Saved cards and the PayPal vault can be charged server-side without a redirect โ€” 3-D Secure pops up only when your bank requires it.

FlyNumber doesn't create Stripe or PayPal subscription objects on your account โ€” every renewal is its own one-time charge, triggered by Auto-Renew on the renewal date. To stop future charges on a number, turn its Auto-Renew off โ€” the service stays active through the current paid period and then expires.

Billing periodsโ€‹

Pick a period when ordering or restoring a number. Longer terms discount the monthly rate:

PeriodDiscount
Monthlyโ€”
Quarterly10% off
Semi-Annual15% off
Annual25% off

Change the period for any active number from its detail page โ€” the new rate kicks in at the next renewal.

When a renewal can't go throughโ€‹

Services don't disappear instantly. If a renewal fails (or auto-renew was off), the order enters a grace period:

  • A regular FlyNumber stays restorable for 31 days
  • The phone system stays restorable for 5 days

You restore by paying for the missed period(s) from your prepaid balance. After grace, the service is permanently released. See Grace and Restore for the full mechanics.
