Hong Kong FlyNumbers have specific service restrictions that differ from numbers in other regions. Understanding these limitations helps set appropriate expectations for how your Hong Kong number can be used.

Understanding the Restrictions​

Number Portability​

Porting Limitation

If you need to transfer your Hong Kong FlyNumber to another provider in the future, this option is not available. Plan accordingly if number portability is important for your use case.

Caller ID on Inbound Calls​

International caller IDs may not display correctly when calls come into your Hong Kong FlyNumber. This is a regional carrier limitation and callers from outside Hong Kong may show incomplete or missing caller ID information.

Outbound Calling Requirements​

Hong Kong FlyNumbers have restrictions on how outbound calls can be made:

  • Local termination required: To place outbound calls, you must use FlyNumber's local Voice termination services through VoIP configuration
  • No international outbound: Hong Kong numbers are restricted from making international outbound calls
  • Inbound focus: These numbers are best suited for receiving calls rather than making them
