India

India FlyNumbers come with specific billing and usage restrictions that apply to all number types. Before ordering, it's important to understand the metered pricing model, the inbound-only limitation, and the documentation required to activate your number.

Outbound SMS is personal P2P only

Registration is open to both individuals and businesses, but this applies to voice service only (India numbers are inbound-only). Outbound SMS on FlyNumber, where available, is a personal, person-to-person (P2P) service for individuals only — under carrier messaging rules it is not available to any business, organization, or entity, or to anyone texting on a business's behalf, even for one-to-one conversational messages. That is Application-to-Person (A2P) messaging and requires a registered campaign (e.g. 10DLC) through an A2P provider. See SMS information.

Metered Billing

All India FlyNumbers are metered, meaning there is a per-minute incoming rate each time someone calls your number. This applies regardless of how you receive the call — whether through VoIP, call forwarding, or the FlyNumber phone system.

How Metered Numbers Work

India numbers work like toll-free numbers for billing purposes. Each incoming call is charged on a per-minute basis on top of the monthly rate for the number — the per-minute charge comes out of your prepaid balance as the call happens. You can monitor your usage in Call Logs (the Cost column shows the per-call charge with four-decimal precision).
