Pricing, Limits and Settings

Pricing

$0.10 per minute of AI conversation, billed per second. No monthly fee for the agent; numbers, metered inbound, transfers and SMS are billed as usual.

In practice:

  • You pay for the time the agent spends in conversation, to the second. A 2 minute 30 second conversation costs $0.25.
  • Creating, saving and publishing agents is free. Publishing needs a balance of at least $10, but nothing is charged.
  • Your FlyNumber's own charges don't change: the number's regular fee, per-minute charges on metered inbound and toll-free numbers, transfers to phone numbers at your normal forwarding rate, and SMS.
  • AI conversation is paid from your prepaid balance. Each call's charge appears in the agent's call history.

Monthly ceiling

The monthly ceiling caps how much your agents can spend on AI conversation in a calendar month. It covers all your agents together: it's one amount for the whole account, so changing it on one agent's Calls & limits tab changes it for all of them.

It starts at $50 per month and can be set anywhere from $5 to $500.

To change it, open any agent's Calls & limits tab, type the amount next to Monthly ceiling, and click Save. An amount outside the range shows Enter an amount between $5.00 and $500.00.

When the ceiling is reached, callers go to your fallback until the next month starts.

Why a call can go to the fallback just before the ceiling

A call in progress reserves part of your ceiling: it counts as a full 5-minute conversation ($0.50) until it ends and its real charge is known. A new call also needs that much room left under the ceiling to start. So a call can be sent to your fallback slightly before your spending reaches the ceiling.

Settings

The Settings card on each agent's Calls & limits tab holds settings that apply immediately. They aren't part of a saved version, so there's no need to save or publish the agent after changing them.

When calls go to your fallback

The fallback takes calls the agent can't answer at all:

  • The caller hid their number and Answer callers who hide their number is off.
  • Your monthly ceiling has been reached.
  • Your account already has 2 AI calls in progress.
  • Your available balance is too low to cover the call.
  • The agent is suspended, or can't take calls for another reason.

Those calls go to the Fallback phone number if you've set one; otherwise to voicemail or an unavailable message. They show as Blocked in the agent's call history, with the reason, and there's no AI charge for them.

The 5-minute limit works differently. When an AI conversation reaches 5 minutes, the call ends; it isn't passed to the fallback.
