Get a local phone number with 3 easy steps
1.) Choose a country, a city and your number
- Create a free account with Google sign-in or your email.
- Choose a country, then a city or area code (and a state for the US and Canada). The Coverage page lists every location with its monthly price.
- Pick your number from the list where offered: search by digits or letters. This works in the US, Canada, Australia and 50+ other countries. Where a list isn't offered, we assign one for you.
- Choose a billing period: monthly, quarterly (10% off), semi-annual (15% off) or annual (25% off).
- Pay by card, PayPal or prepaid balance. Auto-Renew is on by default and every renewal is a one-time charge, so there are no contracts.
2.) Choose how calls are handled, on any device or software
- Tell us how you'd like to use your virtual phone number. This is the number's Call Handling setting, and you can change it any time from your panel.
- FlyNumber SIP is the built-in option: make and receive calls from any SIP app, desk phone or PBX (SIP is the standard that VoIP apps and desk phones use). Incoming calls are included; outgoing calls are billed per minute at the rates on our Rates page.
- Or forward calls to any phone number, send them to your own VoIP or SIP address, or add our optional cloud phone system. All four are explained below.
3.) Enjoy your FlyNumber
- Manage everything from My FlyNumbers in your FlyNumber panel: call handling, billing period, Auto-Renew and every per-number setting. Use all the features.
- See every incoming and outgoing call in Call Logs, with the cost per call and CSV export.
- Listen to messages in your Voicemails inbox. Voicemail is built into FlyNumber SIP, so no phone system is needed.
- On numbers with SMS in, incoming texts land in your SMS inbox and your email. On numbers with SMS out you can send texts from the panel too.
- If the number does not require registration (e.g., US, Canada, UK, Israel and others), it is usually active right away; some orders get a quick review within 24 hours.
- If registration is required (e.g., France, Italy, Germany), the panel walks you through the upload at checkout and the number activates in about 1–3 business days.
Four ways to use your FlyNumber
Note
Switch between them any time in your panel. A fifth option, Park the Number, stops the number ringing anywhere (callers hear busy) with no call charges.
Frequently asked questions
How long does it take before my FlyNumber is active?
Numbers that don't need registration (US, Canada, UK, Israel and others) are usually active right away; some orders get a quick review within 24 hours. Where local law requires registration, the panel walks you through the ID and proof-of-address upload at checkout, and verified numbers activate in about 1–3 business days. The coverage page shows which countries require registration.
Can I pick my own phone number?
Yes, in the US, Canada, Australia and 50+ other countries. When you order, the panel shows a list of available numbers and you can search by digits or letters. Choosing a number holds it for 10 minutes while you check out. Where a list isn't offered, we assign one for you. Use the "Pick specific #" filter on the coverage page to see exactly where you can choose.
Can I make outgoing calls with my FlyNumber?
Yes. Set the number's Call Handling to FlyNumber SIP and you can make and receive calls from any SIP app, desk phone or PBX, with your FlyNumber as the caller ID. Incoming calls are included with the number's monthly rate; outgoing calls are billed per minute from your prepaid balance at the rates on the Rates page. The cloud phone system can call out too. Some number types restrict outbound calling due to local regulations.
How much does a FlyNumber cost?
Numbers are priced per number, not per user, from $2.95/month. The coverage page shows the live monthly price for every city and prefix. Pay monthly, or save 10% quarterly, 15% semi-annually and 25% annually. There's no setup fee on most numbers; some premium numbers carry a one-time setup fee, shown next to the price. Per-minute calls, forwarding and texts come from your prepaid balance at the rates on the Rates page. See the pricing page for the full picture.
Can I move my existing phone number to FlyNumber?
Yes. Submit the port-in request from the Porting page in your panel: pick the country and number type, download the letter of authorization (LOA), enter up to 10 numbers, upload the signed LOA and a recent bill, and submit. We handle the carrier side and keep you posted by email and in the panel. Porting is free in nearly all countries; the few that carry a fee are listed in the porting docs. It typically takes a few business days for US and Canadian numbers and 1–3 weeks internationally.
Can I send text messages from my FlyNumber?
On any FlyNumber whose coverage shows SMS out, yes. Send texts from the SMS inbox in your panel, no activation needed, at the per-segment rates on the Rates page. It's for personal, person-to-person texting; bulk, marketing or automated (A2P) messaging isn't supported. Texting US numbers isn't available yet — it's coming soon (A2P). Incoming texts arrive in your SMS inbox and by email on numbers with SMS in.
